The Optics in Medicine research group is comprised of researchers based at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, and Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, who are interested in the ways in which optical systems are used by physicians, covering all aspects of inspection, screening, diagnosis, therapy guidance and delivery of treatment. This work is rooted in the scientific explorations of developing unique spectroscopy and imaging systems which allow visualization of medically relevant phenomena. The imaging technologies developed by the lab are used to visualize radiation therapy, guide surgery through molecular information, optimize photodynamic therapy delivery.
