Academic Appointments

Associate Professor of French

My scholarship and teaching have centered on literary genres, especially the novel and romance, epic, and pastoral and their intersections with seventeenth-century French history. More recently, my investigations of the multi-volume romances popular in the first half of the seventeenth century have lead me to focus on early modern print culture, the history of the book, and reading practices.  My teaching interests have additionally included translation and translation theory and contemporary French culture and politics.
