I am an environmental archaeologist and zooarchaeologist investigating the politics of animal use in the past by combining multispecies anthropology with complex analyses (taphonomic, morphometric, and isotopic) of faunal remains. I am also interested in linking the data on ancient human-animal relationships with contemporary ecological problems. My main field projects have been based in northern Peru (Ancash and Cajamarca departments), but I also worked with animal bones from European (in Bulgaria, Georgia, and Poland) and North American (California) archaeological contexts.
