Daniel Behar is a research associate and lecturer in Jewish Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. He completed his PhD in Comparative Literature at Harvard University. His current book project focuses on modern poetry in Syria, its global horizons and local settings, and its dialogue with other modern poetries. His interests include modern poetry in transaltion, Arab culture in a globalized world, and comparative studies within the literatures of the Middle East. In 2019-2020, Daniel will teach courses on Arab-Jewish culture and on the art of translating love poetry. He is also an active transaltor of modern Arabic poetry into English and Hebrew.
