Associate Professor in Computer Science

My research interests lie broadly in mobile systems and wireless networking. I am fortunate to work with great colleagues and a group of talented and motivated students at the DartNets lab on a range of interesting research projects.   • We design and fabricate Aili, which turns a table lamp into a gesture sensing device. It reconstructs hand skeleton poses without cameras. Please find more detail at our project website: http://dartnets.cs.dartmouth.edu/aili 

  • StarLight reconstructs a human skeleton pose using light from LED panels on the ceiling and a small number of photodiodes on the floor. 

  • WiPrint steers wirless signal waves using 3D-printed reflectors in optimized shapes. 

  • The SmartGPA app uses passive sensing data and self-reports from students’ smartphones to understand individual behavioral differences between high and low performers during a single 10-week term.

  • HiLight allows screens (e.g., TV screens, tablets) to communicate with any devices equipped with cameras without you knowing it (i.e., no coded images shown on the screen), regardless of the screen content (e.g., video, games, webpages).
